On April 16-17, ETSU senior Seth Johns held his BFA Exhibition in Metals and Photography.
Johns currently lives in Johnson City, but he is from Salem, N.C. He was married at the age of 19 and has one daughter.
Johns has been running his own business, painting and staining furniture, since 2004.
He began working on his Bachelor of Fine Arts program at ETSU in 2006, and is also the photo editor for the East Tennesssean.
He has a concentration in metalsmithing and photography.
In 2009, Johns received a student faculty collaborative grant to photograph in and around Watauga Lake. That work was featured at the show.
Johns describes his photographs as a visual investigation of a modern landscape, and humanity's interaction within it.
He is graduating magna cum laude and plans on applying to an MFA program in photography in about a year.
In the meantime, he plans to take a break to spend time with his wife and daughter.
